Cost:

EOT&TA training is subsidized by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Part C. Therefore, only Early On personnel (i.e. those personnel who are part of the Early On eligibility determination team or those who do service coordination) are eligible to attend the training at the reduced cost ($30.00). Individuals who are not Early On personnel may register for this training at the actual cost ($55.00).

Details:

The training will explore the unique dimensions that both complicate and enhance the ability of providers and families to form and maintain a working partnership.  Topics will include the impact of emotional labor on providers, importance of acknowledging feelings, and the skill of perspective taking.  Strategies that enhance communication and ways to negotiate differences and conflicts will be described and practiced.  Included will be a review of self-care strategies that support the ability of providers to work in challenging situations.

Mini-lectures, video clips, and interactive activities, reflection are used to ensure a lively and thoughtful experience and exchange of ideas.  

Lunch will NOT be provided.  Registration is closed to the public.  SCECHs and SW CEUs will be provided pending approval.
