There is a clear need for a high-visibility continuing education program targeting appropriate diagnosis of 47,XXY/Klinefelter Syndrome, which is the most common genetic disorder, affecting approximately 1 in 600 males. Despite the condition's high prevalence, and the high rate of psychological disorders, social difficulties, physical and psychological manifestations of hypogonadism and infertility, only 35 percent of all males with the condition are ever diagnosed. The purpose of this program is to increase awareness in professionals of all disciplines who are involved in the diagnosis and treatment of children with developmental delays, PDD, ADHD, or other developmental disabilities about the features and variable presentations of XXY syndrome in children.
