Kent ISD Early On Presents:

Bayley III
--
The Bayley III is a brand new Early Childhood Assessment instrument designed to reflect the latest in child development research, national demographics, and clinical utility. The Bayley III can be used with children and toddlers from 1 to 42 months of age. The Bayley III has been expanded and aligns with the expectations of IDEA by covering five domains of cognition, language, motor, social/emotional, and adaptive behavior. It can be scored by hand, computer, or the new PDA administration and scoring format. The process for administering the Bayley III is more user friendly and emphasizes the importance and involvement of the caregiver as well as providing a user friendly caregiver report. The Bayley III is designed to facilitate the clinical assessment of developmental delay and provide results that lead to the development of intervention strategies.

This training will cover the Bayley III, Bayley III Screener, and the new PDA based system for the administration of the Bayley III. Participants in the training will gain an understanding of the importance of Early Childhood assessment as it is linked to intervention. The participants will learn the reasons for a Bayley revision, the standardization process used, and understand the excellent psychometric properties for the Bayley III. Those who attend will leave with knowledge of the content of the Bayley III as well as an understanding through observation and practice of the administration procedures and techniques. The goal of the training is to have those who attend gain sufficient knowledge, familiarity, and comfort with the Bayley III to administer it successfully, interpret the results accurately, and use the results to develop interventions to address the needs of the children assessed.
