Michigan Federation for Children and Families Presents:Child Trauma: Impact & Interventions
Three regional, day-long seminars have been scheduled as a follow-up to the Child Trauma Conference in Michigan held in April 2009. The goal is to educate up to 600 additional individuals who work with traumatized children on a daily basis across Michigan. Locations will be:
Nov. 17 Albion • Nov. 18 Grand Rapids • Nov. 19 Detroit
Each morning of the three seminars will feature Dr. Bruce D. Perry, nationally-recognized expert in neuroscience and child development. The November 17 presentation schedule will be entirely Dr. Perry. The November 18 and 19 afternoon schedules include workshops presented by additional experts in the child welfare field, all focusing on various aspects of child trauma and state-of-the-art treatment approaches for clinical practice.
Who should attend? Judges and referees; prosecutors/assistant attorneys general; parents' attorneys and lawyer-guardians ad litem; CPS workers; CMH, DHS and private agency caseworkers, supervisors, clinicians, and direct care workers; tribal caseworkers, tribal court judges, attorneys and related staff; Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs); Foster Care Review Board members; school social workers; and related child welfare and educational professionals.
Registration fee is $80 per person per day for Federation members and $120 per person per day for all others.
Pending approval of our application, attendees may earn up to 5 Social Work CECHs. Be sure to check the box on the online registration site if you would like to qualify for five clinical Social Work Continuing Education Clock Hours at a cost of $25 per person per day.
