Child and Adolescent Obesity
Child/adolescent obesity is a health issue of growing concern in urban populations. This seminar will examine some of the causes of this epidemic as well as the long-term implications of obesity on child well being. Challenges encountered by professionals working with children and families on weight management issues will be explored as well as prevention and intervention models.
Presenter: Kathryn E. Brogan PhD, RD, assistant professor Wayne State University SOM (Pediatric Prevention Research Center), is the project director for and obesity center grant funded by the NIH focusing on adolescent and family weight management in both the home and the community.
