This day addresses the Procedural Safeguards required in Early On^®. Procedural Safeguards will address the five areas pertaining to the protection of the rights of the child and family throughout the IFSP process. These areas relate specifically to: child and family records; notice to initiate or change the provision of a service; consent (families are fully informed of all information relevant to the activity for which consent is sought); participation of the family in the development of the IFSP; and resolution of disagreements. Discussion will also include the rights of the family in regard to information collected during the IFSP process relate to: confidentiality of child and family records; access of the family to records and amendment of records by the family.
