Who can Attend?

Those attending must have attended a One Day DECA 0-3 or a One Day DECA 0-5. If you are interested in becoming a DECA Local Program Mentor this would be a great way to meet the requirements needed for that training.

What's included in Day Two?

Day Two will focus on using DECA resources, with the introduction of fun strategies for supporting the social and emotional health of all infants, toddlers and preschoolers and for building the protective factors of adult caregivers as well! Participants will learn how to collect information, assess, and plan for supporting the social and emotional quality of care giving environments using a series of research based reflective checklists and tips from the newly released "Infants and Toddlers Strategies Guide" and the "For Now and Forever for Infants and Toddlers: A Guide for Parents". Participants will also learn how to collect information, assess and plan for supporting the social and emotional quality of care giving environments using reflective checklists from " Classroom Strategies to Promote Children's Social and Emotional Development: and the "For Now and Forever: A Guide for Families on Promoting Social and Emotional Development." Participants will also learn how to collect information, assess and plan for building their own protective factors and those of other adults caring for infants and toddlers by using the newly released, research based Devereux Adult Resiliency Survey and activities from another new resource titled "Bouncing Back, Simple Strategies for a Resilient You".

Full DECA programs support building Social Emotional Health in three key areas: the child, the caregiving environment and the adult caregiver. If you only attended a one day training from me, you would have only received the child piece. This Day Two covers the rest of the comprehensive program. Day Two will cover what participants would receive from the webinars I offer: The Caregiving Environment and Adult Resilience, only you can receive it live and in person.
