Part 2: Early On^® & CMH One-Day Training (Birth to 5): Strategies for the Home, Group Setting (i.e. child care) and for the Adult Caregiver

Who Can Attend?

Those attending must have attended a:

1. One Day DECA 0-3 or a
2. One Day DECA 0-5 training.

If you are interested in becoming a DECA Local Program Mentor you MUST attend a Day Two Training.

What's included in Day Two?

Day Two will include a brief review of how to plan for the individual child using DECA program resources.  The training will focus on using DECA 0-5 resources for supporting the social and emotional health of all infants, toddlers and preschoolers in care giving environments including the home setting and for building the protective factors of adult caregivers as well.

In this training participants will:

• Review how to plan for individual children's social and emotional health using DECA 0-5 program resources.
• Learn how to collect information, assess, and plan for supporting the social and emotional quality of care giving environments using a series of research based reflective checklists and tips from DECA program resources.
• Learn about Adult Protective Factors and how to build and support adults who care for infants, toddlers and preschoolers using strategies and activities from DECA 0-5 program resources.

Full DECA programs support building Social Emotional Health in three key areas: the child, the care giving environments and the adult caregiver. If you have only attended the one day training from Julie Helmer or another certified Devereux trainer, you would have only received the child aspect of the Devereux training.  The Day Two training addresses the other two aspects of the Devereux comprehensive program.
