TOPIC: Creative and Compassionate Ways to Support Families involved in early intervention: What every faculty and provider can use in their teachingThis workshop and conversation will provide valuable ideas about ways to help your students better understand what families experience as they enter early intervention for their infants and toddlers, birth to three. Through the use of mini-lectures, DVD clips, and stories, we'll explore the phases many families typically experience and the most effective ways to interact with families. Our intent is to have you leave the workshop with practical lecture materials, interactive activities, and up-to-date community resources. Time well spent!
Presenters: Celena Barnes, Parent Mentor with the Michigan Alliance for Families and Parent Rep Alternation with MICCH, and the mother of four daughters, two who have received early intervention and special education supports. Celena will be joined with two of her colleagues, Clare Brick and Caryn Pack Ivey. All three parents are leaders in the field and proud mothers of an Early On graduate. Janice Fialka, Special Projects Trainer with EOTTA, a national speaker on parent-professional partnerships, and the mother of two adult children, one with an intellectual disability.
Be among the first to learn about a new family friendly resource developed by Climb to the Top, an exciting new project between Early On and the Michigan Alliance for Families.
Please spread the word & bring a colleague, your students, or members of your community.
