The Michigan Association for Infant Mental Health presents a Webinar Series by Susan Reed, BA, JDMichigan Immigrant Rights Center
This course will provide a framework for understanding the immigrant legal issues faced by low-income families with one or more non-citizen members. The course will primarily focus on family-based immigration law and humanitarian immigration programs, since employment-based immigration options are rarely available to low-income households. The course will also explore the process facing noncitizens who are detained or prosecuted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and discuss noncitizens' civil rights with respect to immigration enforcement as well as state and local authorities. Finally, the course will guide participants to community-based resources for families in need of immigration related services.
