Now What? Using DECA Results to Plan for Children

Lunch will NOT be provided.This training will offer participants a chance to review resilience and the DECA 5-Step Process. Participants will also bring their own “real life” child and family plan of services that they are working on to the training and dig into hands-on planning using the DECA strategies guide as well as other research based strategies from the Center for Social Emotional Foundations for Early Learning and the Devereux Foundation.
Objectives: Participants will
- Review Resilience and the DECA 5-Step Process
- Review how to score the DECA Assessment
- Discuss how to use the DECA results in writing goals
- Discover Protective factor strategies to enhance attachment, initiative and self-regulation
- Review DECA planning process using a child focused strategies
- Practice planning through small group work with individual child plans
- Engage in group discussion
Preparing for attendance:
- Must have attended prior DECA training and currently be using the DECA 0-5 assessment(s)
- Must bring a completed DECA that will be used for planning for the child
- Bring an Infant toddler and/or preschool DECA strategy guide if you have one! (Not required)

Parking
Parking is available on the street, bring quarters, or in Lot in front of Constitution Hall (entrance off of Allegan or Washtenaw Streets). Parking Rate is: $4.75 for all day parking if you are in the lot before 9:00 a.m. If you arrive after 9:00 a.m., the parking rate is $10.00 for the day.Trainers:
