“Supporting Early Childhood Inclusion through a Consultative Approach to Itinerant ECSE Services”
With Dr. William McInerney and Dr. Laurie Dinnebeil of the University of Toledo and authors of "A Guide to Itinerant Early Childhood Special Education Services"

Workshop Description: The goal of this session is to explore the key elements and processes related to the adoption of a consultative approach to Itinerant ECSE service delivery.  Workshop Objectives:  Participants will 1) Describe the basic elements of the Triadic service delivery model and examine the relative benefits of a consultative model of early childhood intervention, 2) Identify the range of intervention options available to the itinerant and EC partner teacher and describe how to a) determine appropriate intervention options or modes of intervention and b) determine the intensity of intervention that might be necessary in addressing IEP objectives, 3) Identify and describe the 9 key activities/steps in the Consultation Process and 4) Weigh the benefits and drawbacks of implementing a Consultative Model of Itinerant Service Delivery in their LEA.
