This day long workshop is designed for parents & providers of children with special needs. Some breakout sessions include: How to be your child's best advocate; parenting strategies to manage behavior; simple solutions to everyday issues; assistive technology in early childhood, communication support and sensory information; legal planning for a child with disabilities, tips & strategies for IEP's, strategies for parents to maintain healthy relationships with each other and encouraging self-determination skills. Keynote: An inspirational panel of students share their experiences of building "Connections" through peer tutoring, social events & extracurricular activities that benefit all students. Leave with a toolkit to help make a difference at your child's school. Exhibitors, vendors and service providers will be available throughout the day to share resources and answer questions.
