Teaching parents to be effective communication partners for their children with developmental disabilities is a complex process. This workshop will focus on empirically-supported language support strategies that have been shown to be effective at promoting language development in infants and toddlers. This workshop will also include choosing appropriate communication targets for different populations of children with language delays as well as effective ways of including parents in early intervention. Videos and case studies will be used to illustrate these procedures.
