Explicit and Intentional: Effective Practices to Prepare Intentional Early Childhood Educators

Date:

April 22, 2021

Time:

Training is from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM

Details:

This webinar is made available in collaboration with the Early On Center for Higher Education and hosted by: MI-ACCESS, which is a state affiliate group for the national organization, The Associate Degree Early Childhood Teacher Educators – ACCESS to Shared Knowledge and Practice.

Explicit emphasis related to preparing early childhood educators and interventionists to support the full and equitable potential of children who are diverse in terms of culture, race, language, ability, opportunity, and life circumstances is now called for by national publications, standards, competencies, and position statements. The challenge for early childhood instructors is how to authentically and intentionally infuse existing courses with content and opportunities to apply it. This session will highlight two effective practices that can be incorporated in activities, experiences, and assignments to help students practice connecting what they’ve learned with thoughtful, evidence-based decisions. Examples will include the following age ranges: infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-age children.
