“Connecting with Standards”Make plans now to attend NAEYC's 15th National Institute for Early Childhood Professional Development. Not only will you make the personal connections the Institute is known for, but you'll better understand how “Connecting with Standards” can be a foundation for high-quality programs. Early childhood professionals are part of a standards-based environment—including program standards, early learning standards, content standards, performance standards, professional preparation standards, and others. Identifying ways to build connections between these standards is essential for delivering exceptional educational experiences.
The Institute also will address strategies for:
- making your own personal and professional connections to the standards: what do they mean for you and your work;
- connecting with standards in ways that will influence how they are adopted and implemented; and
- using the standards to promote dialogue and debate across sectors of our field
In addition to theme-related sessions at the National Institute for Early Childhood Professional Development, you and your colleagues in the early childhood professional development, program administration, public policy, and research communities will discover:
- More than 140 diverse sessions
- Opportunities to nurture yourself and network with experienced and emerging leaders
- A chance to enhance your skills for mentoring future and current early childhood professionals and
- Ways to deepen your understanding of the expanding early childhood knowledge base and sharpen your ability to use effective, active learning approaches for adults.
