Early On Michigan Implementation Manual

Catamaran is the system used to track activities and data related to the Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA) and the Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE) for the Michigan Department of Education Offices of Special Education and Early Childhood Development and Family Education.

Child Find is a continuous process of public awareness activities, screening, and evaluation designed to locate, identify, and refer as early as possible all young children with disabilities and their families whare are in need of early intervention services and supports. In Michigan, Child Find for Early On is supported through the 'Don't Worry. But don't wait' campaign and 1800earlyon.org website.

The goal of Early On Public Awareness is to generate and build awareness about Michigan's early intervention system and resources that may be available to families who have concerns about the development of their child(ren).

Early On Michigan has a statewide referral process. Referrals are taken over the phone or online at the 1800earlyon.org website.

This recorded informational webinar series will introduce the child welfare system and support an understanding of Child Protective Services (CPS) investigations to ensure family's rights are protected.  

This is the first webinar in our series: Early On and the Child Welfare System.  This session will introduce the child welfare system and will strengthen understanding of Child Protectives Services. The series will cover topics including Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act (CAPTA), referrals to Early On, and support for families in the child welfare system. 

This is the second webinar in our series: Early On and the Child Welfare System. This session will identify best practices for engaging with families who are navigating the child welfare system. With a better understanding of the impact of abuse and/or neglect, Early On providers can utilize a trauma-focused apporach for engaging and involving families in their child's development.
